There's one subject that we get asked about more than any other, and that's bridesmaids dresses. And while we've written lots of features on our favourite brands, stores, trends and colour schemes, we haven't actually covered the logistics of finding (and agreeing upon!) the right dress. So, on episode 21 of The One Fab Day Wedding Podcast, we're doing exactly that! As well as offering our top bridesmaids shopping tips, we'll be answering such age-old questions as, "Who pays for the bridesmaids dresses!?", "Who gets the final say?" and "How do you minimise drama in the WhatsApp group!?" Plus, we've got our usual helping of wedding-planning advice and insider info. Enjoy!

Episode Breakdown: Episode 21: The Dos and Don’ts of Bridesmaids Dress Shopping

Wedding tip: This week, Claire's recommending Trello, or a similar task management app, for dividing the wedding admin between you and your partner.

Main topic: In this episode of the One Fab Day Wedding Podcast, we're tackling the tricky subject of bridesmaids dress shopping, and the inevitable issues that arise when you dress several women with different tastes, styles and shapes in matching outfits! We’ll be tacking where to start, what to do when opinions differ, and, of course, how to deal with the whole money thing!

Wedding dilemma: A listener writes, “I’m engaged and my partner and I are planning quite a low-key wedding. What we really want to do is go to a registry office with just our family, then meet around 30 of our friends for a fab, informal wedding breakfast at our favourite art gallery and café. Later on in the evening, we’re having more guests for drinks and dancing, which is always my favourite part of any wedding. My worry is this: will people feel that we’ve denied them something if they’re not at the ceremony itself? Will they still feel like they’re at a wedding at all? We’re very private people, and I’d much prefer to say our vows in an intimate setting, but I don’t want to make my guests feel that they’ve missed out on the ‘real thing’. We’ve also thought about doing a speech together to try and get around this, where we would write promises to each other separately, then read them out to one another. Might that be a good solution?" Our advice for this listener is to have more confidence in their plan - it sounds like it's going to be a gorgeous day!

Something to do when you're not planning your wedding: Claire's latest recommendation is a really fun one - be a tourist in your own village, town or city for a day!
