On this week's edition of The Michigan Recruiting Insider, Sam Webb, Steve Lorenz, and Brice Marich recap the recent commitments by top 100 prospects Ivan Taylor (who flipped from Notre Dame) and Andrew Olesh. The crew highlighted the strong recruiting showings by new staff members Lamar Morgan, Steve Casula, and Lou Esposito. Attention then turned to commentary from 247Sports’s national director of scouting about why a few Wolverine commitments recently rose in the rankings, and why quarterback commit Carter Smith did not. From there the conversation shifted to other big time Michigan targets who could be deciding soon, with a special focus on five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola. The crew then previews Phillip Wright’s Saturday announcement, and the threat LSU would still present if he doesn’t choose the Tigers. The episode concludes with a look at cornerback recruiting in the aftermath of Shamari Earls' commitment to Georgia, with a special focus on four-star CB Jayden Sanders.
