Resumption of Cruise Tourism Expected in August

As the local economy continues to recover from the fallout caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic, the tourism sector, which is one of the most severely affected, is now finalising plans to homeport a cruise vessel from the Norwegian Cruise Line company ahead of the resumption of cruise activities slated to commence in August. Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett, who made the announcement, said that the venture will see the resumption of cruise tourism on the island, following a halt of the industry since the outbreak of the pandemic last year. “We look forward to welcoming them back to our shores, and I am confident that this important partnership will aid in our effort to rebuild our tourism sector and boost our economy overall,” Bartlett said.
