When you think of ice hockey what countries come to mind? I assume, Canada, the US, different parts of Europe all come to your mind. What about the warm countries do they come to mind? Do you think of the Philippines? If no, why not the Philippines, is it the climate or is there another reason? Okay, so maybe the Philippines did not crack the top of the list in your head for the top ice hockey countries, but consider this, although it's not the top of your list, what would it be like to be a part of the national team for hockey in the Philippines. What do you think it is like, how much do you think they get paid? How recognizable are the players? Do they have to have a second job? See for many of us, when we think of members of a national team, of some of the more major sports (hockey included) we picture a certain type of high-rolling life, but of course, that is not always the case. In this episode, we talk with the captain of the women's national hockey team for the Philippines, Danielle Imperial. Danielle does a magnificent job describing the current state of ice hockey in the Philippines and in southeast Asia in general, as well as, the life of the captain of a national ice hockey team in a country we don't normally think of when we think of ice hockey. Plus, we dive into some of the questions from the beginning of this description. All that and more on today's episode. We want to give another very special "thank you" to our guest for this episode, Danielle Imperial. And, as always, I want to thank you listeners again, without you and your support, we would not be able to continue the show, thank you so very much. Remember give us a follow on Instagram (@globallyballinofficia) and Twitter (@globallyballin) as well as a rating on Apple Podcasts, if you feel so inclined. Thank you and enjoy!
