If you're not familiar with this song - no worries, I've added a clip to the front of the show. I think it's Julie Andrews, but YouTube has different credits for it...but it's the words that I am talking about, more than the song. This was the name of the company I worked for over 17 years ago. I loved it. I would do 'cold calls' all day long and walk in and say, "Hi I'm Gail, and I'm here to get to know you!" Easy sell once I got to know the people I was calling on. How about you, like cold calls, hate cold calls? I actually have a whole seminar script on that very subject, 'cause I love them. Why, you might ask - because it is no different than meeting your friend, your spouse, your pastor, anyone for the first time. So why is that such a 'hiccup' or hurdle for so many people. And I understand shy, because believe it or not I have a few precious people in my life that are shy...so I know that is difficult to overcome. But when you change your perception and decide it's 'fun' to make a new friend, it somehow isn't so daunting. Listen in and hear the story of my gig with "Getting To Know You".
