“Graduate” Episode 2 features an interview the host Fabiana Conway did with Andrea Archilla, a recent high school graduate that plans to attend the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez campus on a pre-med track. Andrea shares her experiences throughout high school and tells listeners about how she managed rigorous course work as a full diploma programme student through organizational tips like time blocking, taking intentional breaks, and recharging herself with enjoyable activities. She tells listeners about her can-do attitude which led to her pursuing her other interests in remarkable extracurriculars like Star Academy at the Arecibo Observatory, where she was recognized for her outstanding research project that was presented at the American Astronautical Society Scientific Conference. She is also member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, a loyal debater in Model United Nations, and past president of her class in 11th grade.
If you’re a young student who is ambitious, wants to take rigorous courses, and learn about how they can have a can-do attitude as well, then listen to Andrea Archilla’s story with her best tips and advice.
This episode is apart of the new Female Ramble podcast series titled “Graduate” where the host interviews recently graduated high schoolers so that they can share their biggest lessons and pieces of advice they would give to a 9th grader. The intention is to inspire younger students to not be intimidated by the college process and believe in how they can be a leader within their community. Listen and learn from these graduate stories to find out how you can also pave your own path towards higher education.
