Have you ever wondered that Udemy.com can be used as a source of formulating your content strategy? If not, read further! For the uninitiated, Udemy offers online courses created by Instructors across the globe. The courses are on varied subjects including Business, Finance, Software Engineering, Marketing and more. Every course on Udemy gets rated by people who take the course. You can also have a look at all testimonials received for a course and know about the ratings the course has received + number of students who have taken the course. How to you use Udemy.com for building your content strategy? 1. First and foremost, you need to identify topics that are related to your line of business. For example, for an online Insurance aggregator and seller, some broad topics for content creation would be health insurance, life insurance, car insurance, bike insurance and so on. When it comes to preparing content strategy you need to identify the broad topics and sub-topics / sub-sub topics related to the central topic. For example, health insurance as a core topic would have senior citizen health insurance, maternity health insurance, family health insurance and many other sub-topics. It is recommended that you build a mind-map for each topic and list out all connected sub-topics. 2. Once you have identified the core topics, head over to Udemy.com and search for courses available on those topics. For e.g for an online stock trading broker, a topic of interest for their customers would be Technical Stock Analysis. You can simply search for "Technical Stock Analysis" on Udemy. This will give you a list of courses created by different instructors. 3. Shortlist 2-3 courses basis their ratings, number of students enrolled, testimonials etc. Now go to the curriculum section of the course. This is where you get all the dope for your content strategy. Simply by looking at the course index, you can get a list of sub-topics for your core topic. Start making a list of all sub-topics across the 2-3 courses and prepare a comprehensive index for the core topic. 4. All you have to do now is organize your content strategy - plan who and when is going to write content for the sub-topics - whether its blogs, videos, infographics etc. make a list of all content that can be created.
