Acts 1:14 They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.’
After seeing the resurrected Christ, the disciples and other believers began to meet together to pray. This was the early church, a small group of people who were transformed by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. No name, no denomination, no positions and roles. They simply came to be united in prayer. Today we believe that our deepest bonds are created by our political affiliations, our gender, our race, how much money we make or even our favorite sports team. When in reality, coming together to pray reminds us that our deepest bond occurs when we are united under Christ.
