On the Move: Our Crazy Moving Stories from Over the Years, Part 1

In today’s episode, Rachel has got us wondering…where in the world is Rachel!? This unique series features part 1 of the crazy moving stories from over the years, beginning with just before the Great Recession all the way up to right before this last move JUST made (stay tuned for part 2). We’ll also talk about the latest transformations in our business and podcast. We promise you'll gain practical insights into high-level business ownership and the creative process of rebranding Unmarked Street. Plus, get an exclusive peek into our new series, "40 to 40," as we approach my 40th birthday with a fresh perspective and innovative content.

The first part of our journey takes us from the cold, and a lot of times, dreary state of Ohio to the beach landscapes of Santa Cruz, California, revealing how each move impacted our professional and personal lives. If you’ve ever wondered what it's like to adapt to new communities while running a remote business, we share our firsthand experiences, from the early days of Kyle mastering remote work to the highs and lows of apartment hunting and home building. I guess in a way, we truly were digital nomads.

As we settle back into Colorado, we prep you for part 2 where we offer valuable tips for anyone planning a cross-country move, and some advice based off of what we could have done better!

In this episode, you’ll hear:

-Some of the evolutions you can expect at Business of Apparel and Unmarked Street in the coming months.

-The move that started it off in Ohio.

-How the Great Recession of 2008 affected Rachel and Kyle’s next move.

-Why it’s important to ask for a relocation package when working (and moving) for a corporate company!

-The CRAZY schedule we kept in California that became truly unsustainable.

We can’t wait to hear what you think of this episode!
