Heavily armed gangs have tried to take control of Haiti's main international airport in Port-au-Prince, exchanging gunfire with police and soldiers. It is the largest attack on an airport in Haitian history.
The latest attack came after the Haitian government declared a state of emergency and nighttime curfew following violence in which armed gangs broke into the country's two largest prisons and freed 3,000 inmates over the weekend.
