As with many other things in life that require a certain level of commitment and effort to achieve, it’s normal to ask “What’s in it for me?” It’s a fair question and one that I hear often when talking about professional credentials like ASE Certification.

Certification is all about helping you tell customers, employers, and other people about what you know while showing that you’ve gone the extra mile and put in the time and effort to be among the best in your profession. But there are other, more personal benefits which are often overlooked. In this second of a two-part interview, we’ll continue our discussion with Jonathan Couch, one of the newest inductees into the ASE President’s Club and a World Class Technician.

When asking the question “What’s in it for me?” who better to talk about how ASE Certification can help advance your skills and knowledge than someone who has held more than 50 ASE Certifications in his career.

Hear all about it as we continue our talk with Jonathan about:

· How ASE has benefitted him in his career.

· Why ASE Certification is a reflection of how you invest in yourself.

· Why employers are looking for a different type of technician today.

· The importance of being aware of what’s coming.

· The magnitude of change in automotive technology.

· Why ASE Certification is a good way to evaluate your performance.

· The advantage and relevance of a universal certification like ASE.

· Living his dream at the Corvette World shop and Couch’s Automotive Racing Services.

Stay tuned for more thoughts and advice on the many facets and opportunities available through a career in the automotive service industry as we continue our Team ASE podcast series, and thanks for listening!
