How did the Europeans and Māori communicate and get what they needed? 7. Did any of the people Cook meet come on board the Endeavour? If not, why? 8. What did Captain Cook and Joseph Banks learn from the locals? 9. How did the visit to the Bay of Islands help Cook in his map making? 10. Was there more than one opportunity to meet? Did Captain Cook meet Bay of Islands locals again at another time?
