In this episode words and music are used to show me complex feelings and emotions in order to be able to explain what Neil Peart is now showing me as we traverse through the foggy dimensions I can no longer see or hear...I can only feel.
Lisa writes of the loss of her son, and somehow this is all linked together in this episode. I dont know why, but I am sure I will find out. It is explained that the words and music have now been put out there and it is up to you, dear listener, to explain its meanings and if you are gifted in music - take these sounds and words and compose your own song. Each week will be different sounds and words and maybe we will finish a whole album full of channelled meaning! Sort of "Crowd Composing."
Please feel free to send me your mp3 songs by email, and I would love to read your interpretations of the words as well.
Music used as "Fair Use" with copyright to the original composers. I use the song at Neil Pearts Request and for educational purposes.
"Closer to the Heart" is a song by Canadian rock band Rush. It was released in November 1977 as the lead single from their fifth studio album A Farewell to Kings. It was the first Rush song to feature a non-member as a songwriter in Peter Talbot,[3] a friend of drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. It was Rush's first hit single in the United Kingdom, reaching number 36 in the UK Singles Chart in February 1978. It also peaked at number 45 in Canada and number 76 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on March 28, 2010.[4]

Grief (By Philip, Neil Peart, and Anon)

How far do we go ?
How much more can we take ?
That’s the question we ask while
We learn the answers by mistake.
We keep tumbling to the floor,
And still we will ask for more.
Every tear - every thought
Is taking us closer to the reason why,
But every tiny reason we learn
That keeps us from losing our mind
Is bringing us to the purpose.
Why we took ourselves away, from here to there.
From there to here.
To learn without fear and to help without condition.
To feel that connection,

And knowing that road ahead with contrition.
