  • Prequel set decades before 2009 movie in works

  • Tom Cruise’s new contract at WB (leaving Paramount) could open doors to sequel
  • Was unhappy with Top Gun’s 45 day window and pressure to give thumbs up on Mission Impossible and Days of Thunder tv series
  • Cruise also is responsible for inflated budgets and no longer collaborating with studio
