Dr. Meg Myers Morgan shared so many fascinating insights during her last appearance on Shift Out Loud that I had to invite her back! Meg is a keynote speaker, professor, and coach who works with people seeking clarity in times of overwhelm. Her award-winning books include Everything is Negotiable: The 5 Tactics to Get What You Want in Life, Love & Work.

In this episode, we discuss the key factor that can turn a passable coach into a great coach, why you shouldn’t be discouraged by yawning audience members, and what it means to be a lighthouse and stop chasing after the “boats” in your life (whatever they may be).

You’ll also hear Meg and I get into a mini coaching session of our own and explore how our negative perceptions can keep us playing small — definitely a must-listen for anyone who isn’t experiencing the results and recognition that they deserve!

Listen now to discover:

  • Why the solutions to your problems may sometimes show up in disguise — and the power of letting go of your expectations
  • How differentiating between causes and symptoms when it comes to your feelings will help you make better shifts
  • How Meg navigates writing about her life as a mother while respecting the privacy of her family

Guest bio: Dr. Morgan is an award-winning author, college professor, and certified executive coach. Her latest book, Everything is Negotiable, is a bestseller and has been translated in multiple languages. She is an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma and leads the graduate programs in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management on the OU-Tulsa campus. She is currently the chair for the Tulsa Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women.
