Dr. David Smith is a microbiologist at the NASA Ames Research Center. David led the design, construction, and validation of two NASA Balloon Program payloads carrying biology experiments (E-MIST and MARSBOx) as well as the use of a bio-aerosol collector on NASA’s C-20A aircraft. In this interview we delve discuss David's science journey, working across the Agency at Kennedy, Ames, and on detail at HQ, as well as, the importance for scientists to be communicators and overcoming imposter syndrome.
