Sex is ubiquitous in our culture, from the media we consume to the music we listen to. It's often portrayed as a performance, a source of pleasure and a standard we're expected to meet. But is this the reality for most women?

Whitney’s guest, Janna Denton-Howes, is a marriage coach and host of “Wanting It More” podcast. She is on a mission to empower women who are married to men not just to want to have sex, but also to enjoy it more. She is sharing what women actually need when it comes to having fulfilling sexual experiences.

Their conversation includes how to talk to the younger generation of women about sex, what couples can do to deepen intimacy, what’s “normal,” and so much more.

Here’s what to look forward to in today’s episode

  • The difference between sex in real life vs. on-screen sex

  • Why feeling safe is vitally important to women’s pleasure

  • Why Janna hates the terms low libido and low sex drive

  • Our sex lives don’t have to be explosive to be good

  • Janna defines pleasure as a sensation slightly more positive than neutral

  • The world is focused on arousal but there’s much more

  • How we can talk to our younger generation of women about sex

  • One question women could be asking themselves more: Why would I want sexual experiences to be part of my life for myself? What can it fulfill in my life? What can it bring to my life as an individual?
