Ali and Kate talk about oral history and genealogy and knowing where and who we come from.

About the Guest:

Kate’s love for the history of the Hawaiian journey to the Pacific Northwest and other points in North America began with her sitting at the feet of her Uncle Paul listening to his stories of the early Kanakas.

Kate has been a musical performer and storyteller for over 35 years. With a passion to better understand her roots, Kate dove deeply into studying Hawaiian culture and history. These blended together creates a powerful atmosphere for her listeners.

Kate’s experiences as a public speaker have placed her in front of audiences from Universities, guided tours, historical societies, churches and museums; where she has shared the rich Hawaiian history of her ancestors.

Her presentations captivate and delight crowds of all ages, Kate makes history as fun as it is informative.
