The 5 Tools For Your Self-Care Toolkit
1. Learning to Breathe
We all breathe to survive, but most people don’t breathe intentionally. According to Jill, mindful breathing and bringing your attention to the present can help break the pattern of negative, stressful thoughts by evoking a relaxation response.
2. Proper Hydration
A lot of us live our lives in a dehydrated state. Jill explains that staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do for your overall health. Simply drinking at least eight cups of water a day can help support physical performance, prevent constipation, regulate our temperature, lubricate joints, and protect organs and tissues. However, too much water can also be a bad thing.
3. The Food That We Eat
Food is an essential component of the self-care kit. Your goal should be to focus on eating well. Staying away from processed foods, including sugar, is key.
4. Functional Movements For Health
Not only does exercise improve your physical health, but it also helps improve your mental state over time.
5. Reset Your Mind.
You are what you think. The energy you send out – your thoughts, words, and feelings – creates your experience. Your thoughts are the only thing standing in your way. They are your biggest blocks. So look at them – are they true, or do you have false thoughts on repeat?
