How to Bridge Corporate & Social Sectors for Positive Impact? | Ms. Sushmita Singha | #reedmystory She is an experienced social entrepreneur with more than 35 years of experience in the development sector. Her role as Sr Vice President at Sulabh International Social Service Organization involved leading and managing national and international projects focused on Water & Sanitation and capacity building. Alongside her work at Sulabh, she founded the MA My Anchor Foundation, and the JAL Water Museum, and co-founded the Udaipur Tales International Storytelling Festival, reflecting her dedication to various social causes. Her contributions extend beyond the social sector as she integrated her strong commitment to social and human values into the corporate world. She served as Secretary General of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and an independent director at companies like Kajaria Ceramics Ltd, Radico Khaitan Ltd, and Ginni International Ltd. She also held positions on various CSR committees. Her expertise led her to be involved in global initiatives such as the UN Task Force for Millennium Development Goals and the UN World Water Forum, among others. Furthermore, she actively engaged with the Indian government and state governments in advisory roles related to tenancy rights, tourism, and public health. Her efforts have been recognized with prestigious awards from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and the Department of Health, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Apart from her contributions as a social entrepreneur, she is an accomplished writer, having authored articles for magazines, and national dailies, and published a book titled "Tales from Hindu Mythology," along with numerous short stories for various publications. She holds a post-graduate degree in English from Patna University, a Diploma in Urban Town Planning from the Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI) in New Delhi, and a Certification Course in Enhancement of Managerial Capability from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow.
