A Different Way of Viewing Self-Love
Manage episode 347964099 series 3297916
Welcome back to another episode!
This one features the concept of self-love and developing self-worth. In today's world, many of us struggle to unconditionally love ourselves. We might dwell on our past failures, regrets, and shortcomings, while ignoring our successes and positive attributes. Due to external forces, such as the opinions of others and pressure from the media, a lot of us feel we don't measure up to an ideal. This can result in negative self-talk, judgements on others, and unconstructive thought patterns.
In this episode, I share my take on self-love. I consider self-love to be a natural, inherent part of being human. We are enough, simply by being here. It doesn't need to be 'figured out' because it's intrinsic. Instead of doubting our worth, that energy could be better spent on questioning and rejecting external forces that have over time weakened our self-worth. By removing limiting beliefs, we can start replacing them with kind and loving ones.
With self-love, we can accept and appreciate ourselves for exactly who we are. When we are gentler with ourselves, we can extend that kindness and compassion towards others. Self-love creates a more tolerant and empathetic world.
