Are you a parent of a deaf or hard of hearing child who wants more ease and balance in your daily life? Do you often wonder if your child will ever learn good language skills? Do you wish that you could better integrate speech therapy goals and ASL learning into your daily life at home? I am so excited you’re here! This podcast will teach you language strategies so that you can help your child learn language in less time, and do it all with a supportive community of parents who are in the trenches of hearing loss with you! Hey, I’m Alaine. A mom, wife, and a parent of 2 deaf kids. When I learned that my new baby was born with hearing loss, I was in shock and devastated at the diagnosis. I spent the next 6 months overwhelmed with all of the new information about how to parent a deaf child. I sought the advice of way too many people and constantly felt like each person was telling me to make a different decision for my child. I tried to implement too many things at one time and quickly got overwhelmed. And the worst part is that I felt like I was failing my deaf child by not parenting him well enough. I finally realized that if I was going to find ease and balance in our hearing loss journey, I needed to implement the right strategies to support my deaf child and the rest of my family. I surrounded myself with a supportive community and simplified the process of creating systems in our home and school that gave me the confidence to parent a deaf child with ease. And I’m ready to share my tips and tricks of raising deaf kids with you! If you’re ready to help your child learn language in less time, and also gain valuable knowledge from trusted experts in the hearing loss field... Then this podcast is for you! Together we are going to level up your child’s language learning! Put away the to do list, close out the ASL app (for now), and let’s chat, friend!
