The winter break is upon us, and before Paris Saint-Germain kicks off the new year, we step back to reflect on an eventful first half of the season.

On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ethan from PSG Fan Club Boise to recap PSG's Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League performance so far, look ahead to the tie against Real Sociedad, react to the Super League news, and discuss potential broadcasters for Ligue 1 in the United States.

First, we talk about Ligue 1, where PSG sits in first place ahead of OGC Nice and AS Monaco. Luis Enrique earns high grades for navigating PSG to impressive wins at Stade Rennais and at home against Olympique de Marseille. We also name our most valuable players of the season so far and call out what has impressed us the most about the French top flight.

Next, we discuss the Champions League Round of 16, where PSG will face Real Sociedad. We share our initial reaction to the draw and what PSG must do between now and February 14, to prepare to face an impressive up-and-coming squad. We also share the ties we're most looking forward to watching.

News of the Super League 2.0 broke right before recording, so we react to that news and why most of the major clubs are against a new European tournament.

Lastly, we discuss a recent interview by World Soccer Talk with Chief Executive Ben Morel. In the article, he mentions the league is looking for a new broadcast partner in the United States, and we share which providers we would like to see, plus how Ligue 1 can continue to grow in the U.S.

As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. We’re also on Substack! Subscribe for free today to access premium PSG content.
