Empire Metals has breakthrough titanium results at Pitfield

Empire Metals Ltd (LON:EEE) managing director Shaun Bunn talked with Proactive’s Tylah Tully about metallurgical results from the Pitfield Titaniujm Project in Western Australia. Gravity and flotation test results show that Empire can successfully separate titanium minerals from other gangue materials, reducing potential downstream processing costs. "Simple gravity separation is getting rid of the silicates," Bunn noted, explaining the advantage of reducing complexities and costs in further refining stages. The metallurgical tests identified a high-purity titanium concentrate, with around 70-80% titanium recovered in initial tests. Bunn highlighted that these results were achieved through simple and low-cost gravity separation techniques. The success of these tests paves the way for the company to potentially develop a cost-effective pilot plant, marking a significant advancement in the project's progression. Bunn also mentioned that Empire Metals could potentially sell separated out iron oxide byproducts from titanium oxide, creating potential added value.
