Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Retiree is the musical project of three Sydney/ Melbourne mammals: Matt Crowley, Tori Holleman & Marco Vella. Over four summers they’ve steadily congealed their broad influences into a unique emulsion of strongly rhythmic and emotional music. Retiree have released two 12′′s both locally & internationally; Retiree EP (2013) on Plastic World followed by This Place EP (2015) on Rhythm Section International/Plastic World. Last year saw the release of the single ‘Jan’, which delved deeper into their tropical-pop production. Their live set throws all their keyboards, guitar pedals and woodblocks on stage, resulting in long-legged convulsing to a drum machine under honest lyrics. Ahead of their live performance at Pitch Music & Arts the trio crafted a special DJ mix that showcases their diverse musical tastes...
