Welcome to the second episode of the Pierce™ Dispatch, hosted by Pierce, where we ignite conversations about trends, innovations and the future of fire apparatus. In this episode, we invite our first guest from the Inwood Fire Department in Inwood, New York, Chief Josiyah Green. We discuss their first Pierce delivery, an Ascendant® 100’ Heavy-Duty Aerial Tower, the benefits of the tower design in the industry, and Chief Green’s journey to his current rank on his 100-percent volunteer department.

When Chief Green turned 18-years old he joined the department along with his childhood friends. Chief Green rapidly grew into leadership roles within the department achieving the rank of Lieutenant at 21, Captain at 23, Second Deputy Chief at 25 and now at 37, the First Assistant Chief. He is completing a final inspection at Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisconsin, with his fellow committee members, on their Velocity® Ascendant® 100’ Heavy-Duty Aerial Tower.
