A political scientist and futurist, Professor Sohail Inayatullah is the co-host of Metafuture and its Online Futures School, an educational think tank that explores alternative and preferred futures and the worldviews and myths that underlie them. He is a Professor at Tamkang University, Taipei, and an Associate at Melbourne Business School, as well as the inaugural UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies. Passionate about future methodologies and theorising how the future is constructed, Professor Inayatullah works as a writer, lecturer, and consultant to help individuals and organisations transform the future. In this latest podcast episode, Professor Inayatullah joins us to discuss all things future-thinking, including: • What it means to be a futurist and how you can use future thinking to create your desired reality • How COVID has forced businesses and individuals to change, and what realities could exist in the future due to the pandemic • Some of the methodologists Professor Inayatullah uses and how organisations and governments can take action now to control the future • The power of thinking ahead not just 50 years from now, but 500 Professor Inayatullah is the Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Futures Studies and on the editorial boards of Future, Prout Journal, East West Affairs, World Future Review and Foresight. He has published more than 350 journal articles, book chapters, encyclopedia entries and magazine editorials, co-edited 25 books/CDs and has received the Laurel award for all-time best futurist by the Shaping Tomorrow Foresight Network. Continuing his work on shaping the future, Professor Inayatullah is the futurist-in-residence for 2021 with the government of Abu Dhabi, Culture and Tourism.
