Could Michigan's defense somehow be better than last year? One player thinks so

Michigan edge rusher TJ Guy met with the media earlier on Friday and shared his thoughts about his new defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. In doing so, he feels like there's a strong chance the Wolverines are even better defensively than last year when it was the No. 1 total and scoring defense en route to a national championship. We parse what he says and look into if that can truly be the case.

Then, we delve deeper into the experience on the defensive side of the ball, going further into the snap counts we started looking at on Thursday's episode. If experience plays the biggest factors in playing good football, then Michigan's defense has a lot more than people are recognizing.

All that said, this could just be Michigan football propaganda coming out of fall camp -- which happens every year. Why we believe this isn't the case for either the offense or defense compared to other years where we were promised the sky only to get a ceiling.
