Matt Vierling was a standout performer, going 3-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Bobby Witt Jr. was a bright spot for the Royals, driving in five runs with a homerun and a single. Despite a robust start from Seth Lugo, who pitched 4.2 innings with four strikeouts, the Royals couldn’t maintain their early lead as their bullpen faltered.
