On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Winans (@JacobWinans8) to the show for another edition of Winans Wednesday. The two discuss the night that was from Sunrise as the Panthers Raised the Banner, and got back to business in a dominant performance against their arch rivals, the Boston Bruins. The Panthers were shot out of a cannon as they had a multi-goal lead in the first period, which the second line led by Sam Bennett truly set the tone. The Panthers also responded quickly after giving up a shorty, with a shorty themselves, after an incredible save by Sergei Bobrovsky on Brad Marchand, Sam Reinhart scored on an unreal way getting around Bruins Defenseman Charlie McAvoy to beat Joonas Korpisalo on the far side to extend their lead to two once again. The Cats got in the heads of the Bruins as there were a lot of post whistle scrums that resulted in Panther power plays. Some of the newcomers got into the mix along with the scoring in AJ Greer and Jesper Boqvist. Florida had to manage this one losing Adam Boqvist after taking a puck to the face on a Bruins clear while Florida was on the man advantage. The two give their thoughts on how the team managed the game after. There was a surprise after the game where the Panthers announced that they and Forward Carter Verhaeghe have agreed to an 8-year contract extension to cap off an incredible night from Amerant Bank Arena.
