Jesus Sanchez's three-run home run- right after Jake Burger's two-run double- capped off a five-run ninth-inning rally that gave the Marlins another comeback win in the ninth inning.

The Marlins were down 6-0 in this game, came back to make it 6-4, immediately gave the runs back to trail 8-4, then came storming back in the ninth, scoring all five unanswered runs with no outs to stun the Rockies and their home crowd.

The National League's two worst teams put on an offenisve show tonight, with the Marlins ultimately overcoming their largest deficit of this season, topping the five-run hole they climbed out of on April 30, also against the Rockies.

Before tonight, the Marlins were just 5-76 when trailing after eight innings, while the Rockies were 41-8 when leading after eight innings. It was the Rockies’ largest blown lead of the year.

Sanchez added an RBI double to finish with four RBI's for Miami, 48-84. Kyle Stowers hit his second home run and also tripled for the Marlins.

Griffin Conine, the son of "Mr. Marlin" Jeff Conine, had his first two career hits, a triple and a double, one day after making his major league debut. Conine scored on Burger's double in the ninth.

George Soriano (1-1) got the win by pitching a scoreless eighth. Calvin Faucher struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth for his fourth save.

Angel Chivili (1-2) took the loss and was handed his second blown save of the season after giving up Sánchez's home run.

Ezequiel Tovar had four RBI and his 20th and 21st home runs of the season to lead the Colorado attack.

Charlie Blackmon and Jacob Stallings finished with two hits apiece for the Rockies, who got at least one hit from each player in their lineup. Blackmon and Sam Hilliard each hit a solo home run. Blackmon’s leadoff shot in the first inning was his 133rd homer at Coors Field, breaking a tie with Vinny Castilla for the most by a Colorado player in the ballpark’s 29-year history.

These two teams play game three of this four-game series tomorrow. Miami RHP Max Meyer (3-3, 5.44 ERA) faces Colorado LHP Kyle Freeland. (3-6, 5.70)
