Residual Trauma is a tough head space to be in. It’s tough mentally and emotionally. I can speak to the feelings and emotions that flood my body in the name of cortisol. It can be very rough on the mind and the body. I’ve found myself waiting for the bottom to fall out. It’s like always waiting for the other shoe to drop. People living with residual trauma are continually getting ready for the next attack or life-altering event. When someone is preoccupied with a real or imagined threat, the resulting fear, rage, or disappointment will be reflected in the body or attitude. Science shows that trauma survivors suffer more illnesses. That’s why I chose to share on this topic. That’s why it’s so important to take care of ourselves regardless of Trauma. The damage on the body can be devastating and painful. If you or someone you know suffers from Residual Trauma please gently encourage them to seek treatment from a physician that specializes in Residual Trauma. I know you have many choices in the podcast world so thank you so much for being here with me today. I appreciate you, your time and energy.
