Ep72: Looking back at Red Hot & Skin (Pt 1)
Manage episode 365705956 series 3471740
In 1993, one album tried to encapsulate the wide world of music from the Lion City: Red Hot & Skin, the double-CD various artistes compilation album by Pony Canyon. Comprising 30 songs by 22 artistes, it was a genre-bending collection of songs that went from outrageous to meh. Kevin and Chris hit rewind on this album and along the way, they ask all-important questions like:
- Why do people say AI is stealing but they don't mind buying cover versions?
- Who thought adding a Bel Biv Devoe beat automatically made a 70s classic "modern"?
- How is Maizurah linked to Alyssa Milano?
