Dylan Cote’s name gained traction in recent years thanks to his work as a visual artist & designer, as part of the OYÉ collective or on his own, in renowned international events such as MUTEK, Dour Festival or Positive Education. We are delighted to release Antrela, his first EP as a music artist. This release originated as the sonic part of a solo A/V live project of the same name, melting live electronics with 3D visuals portraying a dystopian, cybernetic universe. The same themes are echoed through the music, which we are presented with in this EP. Combining influences taken from experimental club music, techno & bass music, these six tracks mix intricate drum patterns with psychedelic synths, building tension and an atmosphere that simultaneously seems deep & apocalyptic. Though the music here feels like a symbiotic companion to the visuals it was composed with, the EP also stands on its own, conveying powerful vibes and a cohesive sound world. It is also a great fit for DJ USBs aiming for hallucinated sounds & forward-thinking club music. As such, Antrela is also perfectly in line with Syrinx Music’s ethos, as always located at the many crossroads between the lab & the club.
