Rome-based producer A-Tweed lands on Ransom Note sub-label Human Endeavour with a four-track EP of hypnotic, leftfield chuggers. Well known for his cocktail of crawling, lysergic beats and low slung acid mutations, the Italian producer follows outings for labels like TRESOR, Multi Culti and Hard Fist, with the wonky, tripped-out rhythms of ‘Riot Disco Punk’. Shunning conventional dancefloor tropes, A-Tweed brings his signature punk attitude to this self-proclaimed “personal musical riot”, launching with ‘Kabuki Spin’, a steady beat awash with reverberating synths and whispered vocals that take us out of reality. The off kilter wonk of the title track follows with a smattering of bleeps, bloops, crunches and vocal stabs, setting the scene for the intoxicating, skewed rhythms of ‘Akira Danse!’ and psychedelic tribal beats of ‘Dusty Rumble Fish’; each track serving as a reminder that it's always more fun to colour outside of the lines.
