“There are so many ways leaders use communication skills to build their business, their empire, their legacy. Our hope is, the expression and the intention line up exactly. We all want leaders who mean what they say and say what they mean. There are leaders who are carless with their word choices out of ignorance or arrogance. There are also leaders who are nefarious with their word choices. These leaders manipulate the masses by using words which mean something other than what the masses expect. These carefully selected words may be used to imply an untrue meaning, to impugn the character of an opponent, or to miss characterize the nature of an event or incident. All of this can be done by employing words which mean one thing but are understood by most to mean something entirely different.” J. Loren Norris
