What would life be like without having Tom Hanks compare it to a box of chocolates or knowing that Rose had enough space to save Jack from drowning or honestly, realizing that you can save humanity by sending deep sea oil drillers to space to blow up an asteroid?

All of these are lessons taught to us by films of the 90s – the decade of cinema that reinvigorated, influenced and changed the way movies and pop culture lived and breathed.

In this week’s episode of the Layered Butter Podcast; the nostalgia kicks into overdrive as Raf, Rod and Jordan look back at one of the most iconic decades in cinema history. Are we turning into the boomers longing for the good days of cinema?

90s cinema saw dialogue becoming a forefront of narrative storytelling; casual conversations became page-turners, brief exchanges about fast food or dead-end jobs became influential in the way writer/directors told their story – from Kevin Smith to Tarantino to Paul Thomas Anderson - the 90s began to listen to the independent voices.
