Raquel Velez, Puerto Rico born and 1st generation CEO & Founder of AlpineParrot.com, is changing the outdoor fashion industry for women of color, one pair of Trekking pants at a time. She knew she wanted to create something amazing from the moment she saw a women show her classroom how she built a robot. Her journey from mechanical and software engineering gave her the confidence to break-fix the outdoor fashion industry by showing up as a plus size Latina with skills to tackle an industry that does not represent people of color in the outdoor space. "We love our full figured bodies and the outdoors", says Raquel and whoever you are and however you describe yourself, nature is ready and waiting for you to join them. Gracias Raquel.
