Kitt gives us an unflinching account of her struggle with what was initially undiagnosed bipolar disorder. As a trained psychotherapist, she has a unique perspective of living with bipolar disorder; of having an advanced qualification but being unable to work and having a child to look after while she navigated her condition. She describes reframing and making use of her experience and journey as part of her purpose to help others by sharing her story or by volunteering. No longer a therapist, Kitt is now a mental health advocate. She does a lot of educating, public speaking and writing and responds to those who reach out to her, just as Kitt.

Kitt O'Malley, author of "Balancing Act: Writing Through a Bipolar Life," is a mental health advocate, public speaker, and former psychotherapist who lives with bipolar disorder.
