Manage episode 372366350 series 3479307
Imagine waking up with absolutely no memories.
That was the reality for my sister, Bethany Marshall Holden, when she was 17 years old. Now, Bethany is here on the ENSPIRES podcast to share her story of Re|N|vention with all of us. I’ve been telling this story for years, but I’m excited to hear the whole thing from Bethany’s perspective and to have you here with us too.
This is a story about losing and rebuilding identity. You’ll hear about family and friendship, career choices, human connection, motherhood, and the many hurdles that Bethany has overcome throughout her life.
Bethany graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2009 with a BA in communications and a minor in marketing, she was a media director for two Harley Davidson dealerships, the director of the High Country chapter of First In Families of North Carolina, the marketing director for Ripley Entertainment, and now she works full-time as an account executive for Coastal Outdoor Advertising.
Topics covered in this episode include:
- What caused Bethany to lose all her memory at 17
- What it was like to wake up with no memories
- Moving through the pain and confusion after a life-altering event
- The power of holding a safe space for people
- Rebuilding identity
I’m sure you have a lot of questions and it’s a pretty fascinating story, so grab a snack and settle in. You won’t be able to walk away from this episode.
