We catch up with Hoops Heaven's Basketball Hustle's original host The Scoring Machine Shawn Redhage to reflect on his remarkable life in basketball with the announcement of his No. 42 being retired by the Perth Wildcats.

Shawn Redhage started Hoops Heaven's Basketball Hustle alongside NBL writer Chris Pike four years ago and now the pair catch up once more with mission accomplished with the famous Wildcats No. 42 about the hanging in the rafters in The Jungle for eternity.

We begin the bonus episode by talking about the way the announcement was made to Shawn about the decision and how Andrew Vlahov delivered it, and how everyone did a remarkably good job keeping it a secret from him.

Discussion then turns to the emotions Shawn felt knowing that something never felt was in the realm of possibility was now going to happen as he reflected on his playing career which included the NBL championships, playing at the Olympics and then receiving the dream finish.

Shawn reflects on coming from the Cornfields of Nebraska to the Beach of Perth, and what a ride it has been including the highs of being 'The Scoring Machine' and winning championships to the horror career-threatening injury.
