As I approach my 40th birthday this fall, I’m noticing a shift in myself and other women my age. At some point in our 30s and 40s, we seem to start losing our love of chasing trends and develop a deep desire to have a quality wardrobe that lasts. We want to feel mature and look more polished. We want to look stylish in an effortless way without sacrificing our comfort. And as working women and moms, we want outfits that meet the demands of our lives — our real lives — not the Instagram highlight reel or the galavanting versions of ourselves we were a decade or so ago in college and early adulthood.

We’re growing up and we want our wardrobes to reflect who we are today. So, if you’re anything like me or our friend, Tomi, who sent in today’s Q&A Thursday topics, you want to know where you’re supposed to shop and when to invest in higher quality pieces. It can feel intimidating to start thinking about your wardrobe with purpose and intention. But in this episode, we’re going to make it easy to find what you want and to know exactly what you need to build a wardrobe you love, and that will last.
