6ers, in whatever career paths you have chosen to take, you must think of the value you intend to provide. This value should not be confused with money, rather is the net positive benefit of engagement. Without a meaningful value proposition at the core, any endeavor is not going to be sustainable.

This week, Tony Nash is joined by Alain Monroy, a US Army veteran and the director of global partnership at the Vegas Golden Knights (NHL team). He is passionate about community development, baseball, being a soldier and leadership. Alain believes listening is the biggest part of leadership.

You will learn about the importance of matching your qualifications with your passion so you can create value. Value creation is also about having the ability to listen intently to the needs of your stakeholders so you can foster collaborations and meet their own specific needs.

As a result, you’ll understand that as military members, we are actually trained to be able to learn on the fly and this is something we can leverage during our transition to a civilian career path. It is understanding that sustainable success is built around a great product or service that caters to a solution and not about getting quick money.
