Identifying Your Podcast Audience and Growing Your Listenership
Manage episode 367505821 series 3374902
When starting a podcast it is important to know who you are speaking to. The truth is that most of us want anyone and everyone to listen. The problem with that though is that if we try and speak to everyone, we'll end up speaking to no one.
In this episode of Good Podcasting, we'll discuss the importance of identifying your audience, speaking to them directly, and growing your listenership.
Here are some key points from this episode:
- Do your research. Before you start your podcast, take some time to research your target audience. What are their interests? What are their pain points? Where do they hang out online?
- Be specific. The more specific you can be about your target audience, the better. This will help you create content that they're actually interested in listening to.
- Use social media. Social media is a great way to connect with your target audience and promote your podcast. Make sure you're active on the platforms where your audience hangs out.
- Collaborate with other podcasters. Collaborating with other podcasters is a great way to reach a new audience and get your podcast in front of more people.
- Be patient. It takes time to build a strong podcast audience. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results overnight. Just keep creating great content and promoting your podcast, and eventually you'll start to see a difference.
