Welcome to Episode 33 of the Front Parking Spot Podcast! Join host Jennifer Bosma as she interviews Kelly King, the retired chairman, and CEO of Truist Bank. In this enlightening episode, Kelly shares his wisdom on the four steps to happiness and the importance of having a growth mindset. With insights tailored for moms, dads, and all family members, this conversation is a must-listen for anyone looking to enhance their life and daily purpose.

Discover how to choose happiness, find your purpose, cultivate a growth mindset, and help others. Kelly's inspiring stories and practical advice will leave you feeling motivated and equipped to face life's challenges with a positive outlook.

Kelly's five books' recommendations that he shared on the podcast are:

Man’s Search for Meaning by Dr. Victor Frankl. He survived the Holocaust, spent three years in Auschwitz, and wrote this book to help people realize that “If you know your Why, you can endure any How.” Chasing Daylight by Eugene O’Kelley. Gene O’Kelley was 43 years old, CEO of one of the largest accounting firms in the world, KPMG, and was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer and given 90 days to live. He wanted to make his life matter so he wrote this book with the help of his wife and in it he talks about "consciousness of the moment.“ Everyday matters, one moment at a time. Mindset by Dr Carol Dweck. She talks about how important it is to choose to have a Growth mindset vs a Fixed mindset. Growth mindset people believe the truth which is that they can learn, change and grow throughout their lives. So when they encounter obstacles they don’t become the victim and give up, rather they remain driven, persistent and accomplish their God-given purpose in life. The Power of Positive Thinking by Dr Norman Vincent Peale. He talks about how having an enthusiastic positive attitude will help you overcome the negative obstacles in life. He bases his belief on a Christian view that God loves us and has a really important unique purpose for our life. The Bible by God. This is one of my five great books because it is fundamental to my faith and it is full of great leadership stories.
