Part 1 of my conversation with Zach Dufrene
In the first part of our conversation, Zach talks about his start in acting with his lead role in two short films written by a seven year old and retold as an adult. Zach also gives us the roots of his musical career with his interest in violin and starting piano lessons at the age of four. He continues his musical journey by studying musical theory throughout his school years and college. I was surprised to learn that Zach is not only a pianist, but also a trombone player having played trombone through grade school and college. Zach talks about his mentors in music with his former band directors. Zach continues his story bringing us through his musical journey telling us about his regional success with local bands including the highs of being signed by Master P’s label and the lows of experiencing loss. We conclude this portion of the conversation discussing the wide range of band types and music Zach has been involved in.
