Today, I have the great pleasure to receive Jiahao LI

He is currently working at Celine as Product Data Analyst.

Prior to this job he has held positions at L’Oreal, in the luxury division and at Luxurynsight, the leading smart data platform on luxury brands, markets and consumers.

I highly recommend their podcast, they have great conversation with the leaders of our industry.

If you are like me, you probably wonder what is a Product Data Analyst.

I am not gonna spoil you Jiahao’s explanation, but let’s say it’s the type of job that didn’t exist when sustainability and supply chain were not the top priorities for luxury brands.

The other reason why i wanted to talk with Jiahao, it’s because he comes from China and has studied in France and Italy.

I wanted to understand his journey to land his position at Celine and what are his advice for other students coming from China with the desire to work in the fashion and luxury industry.

In this episode, you will learn about :

  • Jiahao’s journey from China to France and what are the cultural challanges that he had to overcome
  • What are the skills that you need to focus on, in order become a professional in the fashion industry
  • How to use your school projects during interviews can help you stand out
  • The difference between asking for advice and asking for insight
  • How to craft your own definition of success and find the right work environment
  • Why curiosity is the main skill if you want to work as a Data Analyst
  • The best practice to navigate multicultural environment and collaborate with different type of professionals
  • And of course, what are the missions of a Product Data Analyst.

As you will see, Jiahao is really thorough in his answer and provide a lot of details regarding each step of his journey.

What I really loved about him, it’s his vulnerability and his capacity to self reflect and evolve, even when it’s not confortable.

Those are the signs of someone who is going to become an outstanding professional.

And with no further ado, please enjoy this wide ranging conversation with Jiahao LI
