Oisín Fagan was 30 before he first laced a boxing glove - by the time he hung them up he had amassed almost 40 fights, winning US state and National titles an Irish title and faced opponents of the calibre of Eddie Hyland, Amir Khan, Paul Spedafora and Julio Caesar Chavez jnr. Hugely popular and successful coach to Darren Sutherland (RIP), Kelly Harrington and Emmet Brennan and many more, Jimmy Halpin is back and so to is boxing expert, renowned sports writer with Belfast’s ‘Irish News’. All 3 will look back over the games & what their impact is likely to be on Irish amateur boxing.
Ray Moylette is back also to chat about his experiences winning world gold, European gold but also on missing out on Olympic qualification. And Al welcomes Holy Trinty star Kyle Smith & St. Francis new starter Abbie Goodman back to talk about their thoughts on the olympics - to see if it still has the magic for our younger generations.
And of course Al pays homage to the team, the boxers and of course to our gold medal hero Kelly Harrington.
