Over the weekend of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June, at the Doubletree By Hilton Hotel in Bristol, Lawless Comic Con celebrated the great and good of the British comics scene, both from back in the day of the inception of 2000AD and beyond, right up to the new breed putting out comics today. On Sunday morning, Leonard Sultana (An Englishman In San Diego/The Convention Collective) was invited to host a profile panel on one of the newest kids on the block - The 77 Publications which, under a number of titles, has gathered a blistering array of creators and cartoonists to produce comics which hark back to a generation of books, steeped in nostalgia but very much with a contemporary slat. Here, Leonard speaks to one of the co-founders of The 77, Ben Cullis, along with three of the creators on the slate, new face Andrew Sawyers and comics legends Lew Stringer and Steve MacManus.
