Born in raised in Humphrey, Nebraska, Michael got his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and his Master’s in Administration from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He married his wife Jennifer if 2001 and after having their first child, Leah in 2003 they decided to move back to Nebraska in 2004. They also had their son, Keithen in 2006. With a background in recreation facility management, Michael became the CEO of the Hastings Family YMCA until 2014. He managed a medical practice in Hastings for a few years before becoming the Executive Director of the Hastings Economic Development Corporation. In 2023, Michael was named the City Administrator and Economic Development Director for the City of Minden. Michael enjoys hunting, fishing and golfing in his free time, and he is also a loyal Husker Fan (and Bama fan when necessary). Jennifer is the manager of Prairie Title Company in Hastings.
